Collator is built by R41. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you use the app.
Your data stays yours. Collator is designed so that we never see it in the first place. There are no accounts to create, no servers we operate, and nothing about your vault is ever shared or sold.
Everything you add to Collator, documents, assets, policies, people, custody notes and succession details, is stored locally on your device. None of it is uploaded to a server we run, because we don't run one.
If you have device backups turned on, your vault may be included in your personal iCloud (iOS) or Google account (Android) backup, the same way your photos and messages are. That backup is encrypted and controlled entirely by Apple or Google under your own account. We have no access to it.
Collator does not run analytics, advertising or crash-tracking software of any kind. There is nothing to opt out of, because nothing is being watched.
If you photograph or scan a document, the image is stored only on your device, and in your personal backup if you have one enabled. We never receive it.
If you turn on an app lock, Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system. Collator never receives or stores biometric data.
If you set a reminder for a renewal or expiry date, it is scheduled using your device's own notification system. Reminder data never leaves your device.
Purchases are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your name, email address or payment details, only a confirmation that your purchase unlocks the app's features on your device.
Because everything lives on your device, you can view, edit, export or delete it at any time from within the app. Uninstalling Collator removes its local data from your device. Whether a copy remains in your personal device backup is controlled by your iCloud or Google account settings, not by us.
Collator is designed for managing personal, financial and legal records and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and as explained above, we do not collect personal information from anyone.
Collator can be used anywhere. Because your data is stored on your device rather than on our servers, there is no cross-border transfer of your information by us.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Collator after a change means you accept the updated policy.
